JapFest 2010 - Castle Combe Circuit

May 16th, 2010 No comments

Went down to JapFest yesterday - Europe’s Biggest Japanese car show. This time it was held @ Castle Combe Circuit, Had a good time, there were quite a few club stands, with every Japanese car you could ever possibly imagine. Well worth the 2hr drive each way (And the 2hrs it took to get out the car park after).

There was quite a lot of action on the Castle Combe Circuit - with the general public getting track time and with the more experienced drifters coming out and showing what it means to go sideways
drifiting

Managed to get some photo’s. Although not off my camera - as it decided to break

However the photo’s can be viewed by CLICKING HERE

And on that Bombshell, all i can say is roll on JapFest2

Tune Glue: Helps you find new artists by mapping connections

Tune Glue

I stumbled across this interesting site this morning, Tune Glue allows you to discover new artists and music by mapping the connections between them

This is a web based program and is available at: http://audiomap.tuneglue.net/

It allows you to search for a Artist or Group. In my example above i started with ‘A Tribe Called Quest’. The node is then populated in the middle of the screen. Clicking on the node presents you with a series of options, one being the ability to expand. Doing this will show you the links that this artist has with others.

From here, you can continue to keep doing this with nodes you have created until you build up a complex web of connections

If your like me and like discovering new music by artists that have a similar style to ones you have already come across, this is a brilliant tool, its also quite interesting to see how all of the artists interlink with each other

Its my understanding that the information is pulled from LastFM.com & Amazon

…… get searching your favorite artists & enjoy :D

Bring Me The Head Of Zilla Rocca Mix Tape

Bring Me The Head of Zilla Rocca

Well, Due to the recent snow to hit the Midlands, i ended up with a bit of free time on my hands. So I started to trawl the Internet in order to find some original tunes.

Ended up stubling across this Mix tape by Zilla Rocca which, as i understand is his first solo project. Even though it is dubbed as a ‘mixtape’ i got to say that it is that impressive it is more like album material.

For me, this Mixtape really is entry to other material by ‘Clean Guns’ and ‘Beat Garden Projects’ - having never heard material from this lable before. i am really enjoying what i have found so far… So expect to see the review of more material on here shortly :)

Although it is quite recent this tape manages to go back to hip Hop roots and step away from the main stream release’s and as a result is fresh & Authentic. For a while now i have been into finding tracks that go as far back as the early 80’s, due to the fact that they seem to be more authentic than main stream tracks that we get now adays

For more information Check out the Clap Cowards Website

this Mix tape has been made avalible to download for free. i have managed to find a DOWNLOAD here

Zilla Credits

I know that Zilla Invited selected producers in order to remix each track on theis tape and the remix dubbed “Bring me The remix of Zilla Rocca” is out there. So far my attempts to obtain a copy have been unfuitfull, but watch this space

My target was to do it in just under 2 hours. my actual time was 2hrs 0mins 52sec … so not far off

Above shows the place that i came, 3428th - which isnt too bad considering that close to 10000 people took part

Well its been a while since my last post. Been a bit lazy recently - not really been around either. Not long got back from Sunny Spain. Made a nice change not to be rushing round and to get time to chill

This year we flew out as opposed to the normal Driving which kinda made sense, considering we didnt have as much time as last year

Had a goot time out there - Just under 2 weeks. So got to chill with Sammy and My baby bro for a while. Was an eventfull holiday all went really well though. Apart from the night when we managed to total our hire car and lock ourselves out of the villa, was not a good look sleeping in the car in 30+ c heat :\

… anyway. Pictures can be FOUND HERE
